hi..

i'm just wondering...does everyone in these forum can speak & read chinese?i can't speak/understand chinese..i watched all MD's series with the help of english subtitles..hehehe..anyone care to teach chinese?

but for reading and writing i only know a lil bit

i am not as fluent as i was when i was younger. i can make out certain words and stuff. i can understand alot of canto and a little of mandarin.

I speak Hokkien & Cantonese fluently but my Mandarin accent's always off kilter cause I don't speak it all the time being that my first language is English & I didn't learn to speak Chinese till I was in my teens. I can also read Mandarin although I still need to rely on a dictionary half the time cause I'm self-taught. But if you speak to me in Mandarin slowly, I'll understand you! LOL!

I can't understand when people who're speaking to me in Mandarin get excited cause then the words seem to flow together. I usually rely on the Chinese subs when they start speaking fast! LOL! I find that I understand the Western languages better than the Eastern ones! LOL! I learnt French faster than Chinese.
